Castleton State College

The David C. Chabut Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a student at one of the Vermont State Colleges who has completed at least 24 credits, has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2, is a Vermont resident, has demonstrated financial need, and is pursuing studies in business, economics or political science. Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated a commitment to community service. The scholarship will rotate annually from CSC to JSC to LSC to VTC beginning for the 08-09 academic year with CSC.

Mollie Beattie Scholarship

Recipient must have achieved Junior status during the semester of the award. Must have declared a minor in Environmental Studies, have completed at least 30 hours at Castleton State College, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Must be recommended by a member of the faculty of the Natural Science or History, Geography, Economics or Politics departments. Must be a Vermont resident. However, if there is no eligible VT resident meeting this criteria the scholarship committee will award the scholarship to a non-Vermonter who meets all the other criteria. Preference will be given to any student who plans a career in public or non-profit service in a field related to environmental protection or management and who is also a candidate for a non-Castleton grant, scholarship or fellowship.

Verna Griffin-Richardson Internship

Verna Griffin-Richardson is still active in the Washington D.C. area. Students must be political Science, Public Administration or Legal Studies major with a 3.25 GPA in major courses and 3.0 overall GPA. Student must have a minimum of 75 hours and must have recommendation of faculty in major.
