  • Status: freshman to graduate, male or female, (declared) political science major
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Full-time enrollment for both semesters of the academic year

Georgia Southern University

Bo and Gloria Ginn Scholarship

Criteria: Internship: Available for students who are residents of Georgia and accepted into the Political Science Departments’s internship program. Students must agree to intern with a member of the Georgia Congressional delegation in Washington, D.C.

Senator Paul D. Coverdell Memorial Scholarship (0663)

Criteria: Student must be accepted into the Political Science Department’s internship program and agree to intern with a Georgia member of Congress for a summer internship.

Ron Pye Alumni Scholarship (0653)

Criteria: First preference shall go to a female student in the Political Science Department who is a single mother of a child under the age of 18. Second preference shall go to any female student within the Political Science Department. Third preference shall go to any Political Science major. Student may be at any class level with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

John H. Daily Political Science Scholarship (3356)

Criteria: Applicants must be a beginning graduate student, regularly admitted to a graduate program in the Political Science Department, and for whom at least two years have passed since being awarded an undergraduate degree. The award of the scholarship will make a great economic difference between being able or unable to begin graduate school. The student must have high academic credentials.

William Wallace, Jr. and Dr. Lana Wachniak Scholarship (3537)

Criteria: Applicants must be pursuing a degree offered by the Political Science Department in the area of Criminal Justice. Students must be enrolled full time at the time they receive the scholarship, be of junior status and must maintain full time enrollment throughout the award period. Students must remain in good standing with the University and with the college of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and must maintain a 3.0 GPA. First preference shall be given to female students or minority students. Should all other qualifications be considered equal, financial need will be a deciding factor. Students applying for the scholarship must be of high moral character and must be considered a leader among their peers. Selection will be made without regard to age, race, area of residency, marital status, or religious preference. The scholarship shall be renewable as long as the student continues to meet the established criteria and remains in good academic standing with the University.

Lee and Rebecca Davis Pre-law Scholarship

Criteria: Any student who wishes to pursue a career in law (regardless of major), has an unadjusted GPA of at least 3.5, and has enough credits to qualify for standing as a Junior by the nomination deadline.

Georgia State University

The Mario R. Mion Political Science Honors Scholarship Endowment

Awarded to a student majoring in Political Science with a minimum of a 3.0 gpa who has obtained at least 90 semester hours of college/university study, of which at least 45 semester hours has been earned from Columbus State University. Bailey M. Wade Memorial Scholarship

Annual awards for graduate students enrolled full-time at Georgia State University College of Arts and Sciences. Students must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and career goals. Due date, number of awards and award amount may vary.
