Opportunity Overview:
Brainstorm Creative Resources is supporting a large Virginia-based corporation that is looking to hire a Web Designer into a full-time position, after an introductory period of consistent (M-F, 9-5), temporary employment.
Our client is looking for an experienced Web designer to create all design elements and marketing collateral needed to support their Web presence, including the company’s primary website, e-commerce initiatives, online advertising, social networking, micro-sites, and others.
You must be able to follow designs through from concept to completion, and be able to juggle various projects and deal with tight deadlines. You must have a strong a sense of how layout and design can help to make online marketing efforts more effective. You will be responsible for maintaining the existing brand online while evolving it over time to give all deliverables an up-to-date, modern appearance. Additionally, all industry best practices should be folded in to all aspects of the design deliverable. Above and beyond Web design, you will need to be familiar with basic front end coding principles and be able to collaborate with web developers to ensure the vision of the design is executed as specified.
Responsibilities:
- Design web graphics, banner ads and similar display ads.
- Develop design comps following existing style guides and web best practices.
- Design screen layouts for internal and external web applications.
- Provide cut sheets to be used by web developers and QA resources.
- Brainstorm and collaborate with copy writer and web producer to flush out strategy.
- Present and review design work with stakeholders to garner feedback.
- Post and maintain assets in a shared workspace.* Provide accurate LOE estimates for design efforts.
Requirements:
- Strong skill in and understanding of Adobe CS products, specifically Photoshop.
- Experience with Flash and different animation techniques.
- Some experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript; firm knowledge of Web Standards.
- An overall understanding of web production and the capabilities within digital channels is essential.
- High level of understanding in concepting, typography, imagery, color and layout.
- 5+ years work experience as a web focused designer at an agency, design firm, or in-house creative department preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multitask.
Location / Hours:
The hiring organization is located in northern Virginia. This will begin as an “as-if full-time” temporary assignment, with the goal of having it transition into a full-time position w/in three months. So, while there is no guarantee that the person chosen for this opportunity will be offered a full-time job, it is our goal to see this happen.
Rate / Salary:
Based on our conversations with the hiring organization, we believe the salary offered will be between $50K and $60K annually. Again, this is our estimated range. The actual range might extend a bit beyond the upper limit we are providing. So, we are interested in hearing from qualified candidates who might be seeking as much as $70K annually.
We believe that we can offer a pay rate of between $30 and $45/hour for the temporary assignment period. The actual pay rate offered will be commensurate with experience and our client’s feedback re: specific qualifications and experience.

Internships – Administrative/Legislative, 3 Click Solutions
3 Click Solutions is seeking two (2) full-time individuals for two (2) different roles:
- Administrative Internship
- Legislative Internship
Both roles will support two senior principals and several staff members. The internships pay a transportation stipend and are located at the McPherson Square metro stop, blocks from the White House. The staff is fun, energetic, connected, and often enjoys company-paid lunch together on Fridays! Internships will last 3-4 months and the connections made through networking and interaction with clients and government professionals may lead to permanent employment outside the firm. Both principals are very well connected in Democratic circles.
Administrative Internship Duties Include, but are Not Limited to:
- Handling incoming mail, greeting visitors, maintaining office equipment/supplies
- Running various errands within the vicinity of the office
- Scheduling senior staff with meetings on Capitol Hill and government affairs clients
- Attending campaign and political events with other staff
- Providing other administrative assistance to the government affairs, new media, and international affairs staff
Legislative Internship Duties Include, but are Not Limited to:
- Researching various topics on a variety of client-related issues, providing time, accurate, succinct commentary to internal staff as requested
- Proactively keeping abreast of changes in legislative and regulatory matters that may affect and impact client operations/activities
- Corresponding with Congressional staff and clients (as required)
- Attending campaign and political events with other staff
- Other legislative and project management duties as may be requested
Ideal candidates will have excellent writing and interpersonal communications skills as well as experience/familiarity with Capitol Hill and the legislative process. This is a fast-paced environment, so attention to detail while working under tight deadlines is critical.
Office hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Job Offer – Florida Grassroots Organizer, The Campaign to Reform Immigration for America
Description:
The Campaign to Reform Immigration for America (RI4A) is a national, grassroots effort to build support for comprehensive immigration reform and is, in part, a project of the Tides Advocacy Fund.
In collaboration with the Center For Community Change, United We Dream and the New Organizing Institute, the Campaign is training grassroots leaders to organize for comprehensive immigration reform through specific organizing strategies.
The State Grassroots Organizer will be charged with recruiting enthusiastic leaders to implement the field plan of the RI4A campaign in their assigned state, and serve as the foundation for progressive change into the future.
Organizers report directly to the State Director. This is a role for a goal-driven, experienced organizer or community leader to execute a plan supporting the movement-building strategy for federal immigration legislation. A proven track record with grassroots networks, immigrant rights, and community-based organizations is critical. This is a temporary, full-time opportunity.
Duties:
- Build the capacity to launch an aggressive mobilization and Congressional pressure campaign from January to June 2010.
- Recruit and engage youth, students, and community members to the campaign and movement-building strategy. Develop weekly and daily work plans, and set mobilization goals throughout campaign.
- Train leaders on organizing, goal-setting and leadership skills.
- Work with leadership teams and campaign staff to develop a statewide movement. building strategy, and identify local resources to support key actions.
- Coordinate communication and accountability among core leaders and leadership teams.
- Build a statewide support base by integrating list-building tools in mobilization efforts.
Requirements:
- Committed to the campaign’s legislative principles and the movement for just and fair immigration reform.
- Experience in electoral and/or issue campaign organizing experience is required, as well as experience with grassroots community groups.
- Substantive knowledge of pro-immigrant constituencies and immigration policy. Demonstrated skill in planning, preparing and delivering on set goals.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, attention to detail and strong self-motivation. Computers essential, including “new media.” Able to work in high-pressure environment, maintain long hours consistently, and travel.
- Bilingual strongly preferred.
